Many People Mourn the Dog that Died While Rescuing in Turkey

It has been nearly a week since devastating earthquakes hit Syria and Turkey. In the cold weather, rescuers are still looking for the trapped people. Even service dogs were brought in. All must work in imminent danger.

Recently, a dog of the Mexican rescue team had a serious accident while performing a mission and was not spared. It comes after people around the world mourned the brave dog.

According to posts on the social networking site, the brave dog, named Proteo, was one of 14 rescue dogs sent by the Mexican military to Turkey to aid in the rescue effort. At the time of the incident, Proteo was searching for victims of the earthquake with his teammates.

During the rescue of trapped people, the dog was crushed to death by a pile of rubble. Those who traveled with them narrowly escaped, but lost Proteo forever.

Amid scenes of mourning in Turkey, a grand funeral was held for Proteo. All the Mexican rescuers and dog friends were there. Everyone grieves the loss of this brave dog.

Also according to the Mexican Ministry of Defense, Proteo is a German Shepherd. At the time of departure, the dog was only 7 years old and worked in the gendarmerie brigade. Proteo's trainer and partner are Villeda. He has thanked his teammates after the dog's heartbreaking death.

The soldier said of Proteo in front of everyone: "I want to tell you that I am so proud of you because you have always been strong, hard-working, and never give up. Now I just want to thank you for coming here."

In recent days, rescue teams from the Ministry of Defense, the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR), and the Mexican Red Cross have not stopped mourning Proteo. This dog will be remembered by many for his bravery.
